Tre Jones joins The Brotherhood!
Tre Jones has just announced that he will attend Duke University next season. The first piece to fall for Duke in the 2018 recruiting class. We'll go ahead and state the obvious here, Tre is Tyus Jones younger brother (Surprise!). But in the past few years he has come into his own and grew into a player that deserves all of the accolades and attention he is receiving regardless of who his brother is.
At 6' 2" approximately 180 lbs, he is Scouts #7 overall player (number 1 PG) in 2018 and was recognized as Gatorade's 2016 - 2017 boys’ basketball player of the year. In 28 games as a Junior at Apple Valley HS, he averaged an impressive 23.3 points, 10 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 3.6 steals per game.
Tre plays with extreme tenacity on both the offensive and defensive end, many claiming he's a much better defender than his brother at this age. He also has great full court speed and a lighting quick first step. Tre and Tyus have many differences, but you can pick out many similarities as well such as their High IQ, passing ability, scoring ability, and remaining poised when it matters most.
Anytime Duke has a true floor general I get excited, so this would be one of those times. Factor in his background, growth, maturity, and the reality that he still has his senior year to improve his game... Let's just say I'm looking forward to Tre throwing on that Duke Jersey in 2018 and "writing his own story". Congratulations to Tre Jones on his commitment and joining The Brotherhood (literally).
